What I'm Looking Forward To In 2013: #3
The third and final thing I'm looking forward to later in the year is the Washinton D.C. trip the eighth grade is taking during spring break. Most of my good friends are going, so I'm prepared for a good time. The bad part: the 12 hour drive on our way to D.C. and the 12 hour drive back.
What I'm Looking Forward To In 2013: #2
A second thing I'm looking forward to in 2013 is another beach vacation. We have no clue where in Florida it will be spent in, but it will be fun. The trip still needs to be planned, so we are still clueless as to how it will be spent.
What I'm Looking Forward To In 2013: #1
One thing I'm looking forward to later this year is baseball season. I'm always pumped when baseball comes around, it being my favorite sport. I've practiced and improved over the winter and I'm ready for it.
2012 Moment #5
My fifth and final favorite moment of 2012 was turning 14. I don't know why, but it didn't seem like I was that old. I had a fun birthday, and got a lot of gift cards, which I plan on spending at a sporting goods store. Anyway, that's a sum up of my birthday last year.
2012 Moment #4
A fourth favorite moment of 2012 for me was summer break, though I guess that could be called a really long moment. I had several friends over, played baseball for most of the break, played lots of basketball, and I was very lazy for a lot of it. Perfect break in my book.
2012 Moment #3
My third favorite moment from 2012 was fall break vacation. My family went to Myrtle Beach, SC, and all of us had a great time. We went to the beach, hung out at the resort, and attended a few shows while we were there. Long story short, it was awesome.
2012 Moment #2
Another favorite moment from 2012 was making the basketball team, yet again. Our team is very, very good and I'm looking forward to playing some more games. We are 5-3 on the season so far and I'm expecting it to be even better the farther we go.
2012 Moment #1
One of my favorite moments of 2012 was starting the eight grade. Its been a blast so far, but it has also flew by. I cannot believe that it is the second semester already. I'll make these posts short and sweet, so that's all for now.

Another Assignment
The time has come for another blog assignment for 4th period. This one involves my top five moments of 2012, and three things I'm looking forward to in 2013. This will be split up into eight different posts, nine posts if you include this one. That's all for now, posts on their way.

One Of Those Assignments...
This post will be dedicated entirely to an assignment that Mr D. has assigned to us in 4th period. The topic will be about Hitler, the reason being that our next unit in the class is on the Holocaust. Here's a few facts about his life:
I may have to change the blog title back to "Assignments and Stuff" due to us actually using our blogs now. If I do, that'll be the reason.
- In 1932, Hitler was granted German citizenship.
- On January 30, 1933, he became chancellor of Germany. He used this high ranking position to gain absolute power over Germany.
- On July 20, 1944, Hitler barely survived an assassination attempt. One of his top military officers had placed a suitcase bomb under the table during a conference meeting at Hitler's Wolf's Lair. Because the table leg blocked much of the blast, Hitler survived with only injuries to his arm and some hearing loss. Not everyone in the room was so lucky.
- On April 29, 1945, Hitler married his long-time mistress, Eva Braun.
- The following day, April 30, 1945, Hitler and Eva committed suicide together.

It's Been A While
As the title suggests, it certainly has been a while since I last posted something on here. I'm not sure what to actually post however, so I will explain random things. Things such as our basketball team being successful so far, with a 5-1 record, and how school is flying by and the semester is nearly over. The ball team is doing quite well and is succeeding as of now. We've had numerous practices, but only six games. Many of the games have been cancelled for various reasons. I'm getting tired of the cancellations though. I wanna play ball!
Now, on to the school discussion. The first semester is near over and I'm sad for one particular reason.... NO P.E. CLASS!!! None at all. I've managed to have P.E. twice in one semester, which leads to absolutely no classes of it next year. That's the only thing I look forward to in the day and it will be gone. I'm sad. That is all.

Twitter Buttons
Here's how to add a Twitter follow / mention / hashtag button to your site or blog. Click here. (Don't worry, I promise it goes to the correct site) It took me awhile to actually get it, but I eventually figured it out. Check it out.

Lazy Day
Today, as you know, was Election Day (no school). I couldn't give a lesser crap about it and I'm gonna tell you about how my day rolled. Being on my typical school schedule, I woke up at about ten till seven. I didn't want to get up so I decided to play some video games in bed for about an hour. I finally got up due to hunger, and got dressed to go get my friend @WyattArron and my 1st cousin @karli1264 and spend part of the day with them, at least until ball practice at 2:30. We basically just watched Youtube vids all day and ate some lunch. Successful lazy day in my book. I'm still being lazy at the moment, so I'm still keeping my lazy day intact.

Rescheduling
Our first ball game should have been November 9th. But of course, there had to be some rescheduling done. RC's very successful high school football team is playing in the regionals and keep playing until they lose. So, until they lose, we won't be having ANY Friday games whatsoever. To be honest, I'd rather be playing basketball than going to a football game, just because I'm not big on football. I just want to get the season started at the least, and not begin a month after we were originally supposed to. Basketball is a lot more fun in my opinion. Oh well...

The First Whole Week
The basketball team had a full week of practice last week. As in we had practice everyday. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were all taken up by practice. It was for our own good, obviously, due to most of the team not remembering any of the plays from last year. There were a few of them who did, however, me being one of them. They were all a success, and we had a fairly good week. That's all I gotta say for now. Just keep going.

Thank The Lord
I didn't post about the third day of try outs for some reason. Guess I didn't feel like it. Anyway, turns out I made the team, and I'm happy about that. I wasn't necessarily nervous about not making it, due to all my practicing throughout the summer. The team was the exact same as last years 7th grade team except for two of them who didn't try out this year. I think we have a strong team, and we will do very well this year, assuming we practice hard. That's about all I have to say for now.

Try Outs: Day 2
Well, today was the second day of middle school try outs for the basketball team, as the title might suggest. We covered more timed drills today, and I succeeded overall, I personally believe. Our first drill was the 'timed layups' drill. You have to attempt to make as many layups as possible in 30 seconds, with right and left hands. I'm somewhat coordinated with both hands, so I managed to sink 7 layups with each hand, which tied for first on the team. Then came the 'jump shot' drill, which is nearly the same thing as the layups, except you're shooting and making as many jump shots as possible in 45 seconds. I only made 4, but I was robbed of another make on the last shot beacuse of the "bouncy" rim. I'll make a long story short and say what we did in order: Stretch, skills, shots, drills, conditioning and running, leave the building. End of story. Tomorrow is the final day.

Basketball Try Outs: Day 1
The beginning of my schools basketball season started this evening. It was day 1 of try outs for seventh and eighth graders, and more people showed up than I thought would. I predicted around 50-55 middle schoolers were there. Anyway, we started off the first day with some stretching and dribbling drills. A lot of the kids were wore out after just that (They had no clue what was to come). Afterwards, layups and jump shots were practiced, but that was most likely the easiest portion of the evening. The eighth graders, my group, were demonstrating some more complex drills to the seventh graders, such as 'block-to-block' and 'full court layup' drills. Then, of course, came the dreaded conditioning portion of the day. RUNNING. Sprints and endurance running kills everybody over by the end of the try outs. Luckily, I was blessed with being even in the slightest bit of shape, so I was able to finish rather easily. I'm sure the others can relate to it, being they had to do the same thing. As it turns out, running KILLS your legs. Mine are sore, sore, sore. Next practice, tomorrow. I need ice now. Badly.

First Day Back
It was the first day back to RCMS for students and teachers, due to fall break. It seemed like a fairly normal day, as if it were a typical weekday. I figured everyone (well, at least the girls) would be saying their hello's to all of their friends that they hadn't seen over the break. But no, it wasn't like that much at all. Everyone was just acting how they normally would on an average school day. No "Oh, hey it's been awhile" or "I haven't seen you in forever." That really shocked me, being that all the students were treating each other as usual. I'm just assuming that there were several friends going to other friend's houses over the few days that we had off. It was like 'opposite day' almost. Strange school day...

MLB Postseason
Has anyone else been watching the MLB postseason any? I know I have. If you've watched any games, you'll realize that those games get incredibly intense! About 60%-70% of the games have gone into extra innings, and that makes the games even better. So far, the Yankees have taken down the Orioles, the Tigers have defeated the Athletics, the Cardinals made a comeback to eliminate the Nationals, and the Giants also made a historic comeback from two games down to put an end to the Reds season. All of those games lasted to game five (series was best of five, meaning that the first team to win three games captured the series win). Next round, the Giants and Cardinals will duel it out, and the Tigers and Yankees will fight to get to the finals. Giants and Cards (NL) play tomorrow and I'm not sure when the Tigers and Yankees (AL) play. If you're interested in watching. I will be. Check it out.
By the way....
I forgot to mention this, but I do have a Twitter account, so if you would, swing on over to http://www.twitter.com/ and find me at @kalebharris12. It'd be nice of you to give me a follow, and I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a bunch. --- Kaleb H.

All-Purpose, Updated Blog
Okay, since my first blog that I created was a major failure, I've decided to create this new blog for all purposes. That includes @TheMrDShow's assignments, my own interests, and things involved with Twitter. So, if you're looking for a simple blog, you've come to the right place. Don't expect many events to occur on here. That's what's up.
